The Department of Business and International Trade is responsible for carrying out the City Commissioner's #1 priority, Economic Development.

The Department is comprised of the Office of the Director and one operating division that provides a wide spectrum of services to the community. This operating division is Commercial Corridor Redevelopment. The Department is responsible for facilitating public/private partnership development, managing the City's real estate portfolio and pursuing economic development initiatives. The Department has created the Overall Economic Development Plan for the City of Hollywood.

The objectives and strategies identified in the Overall Economic Development Plan incorporates the goals and objectives of the Citywide Master Plan, as well as components of the City's 1996 Economic Development Strategic Plan; the Downtown ULI Study and Recommendations; the Hollywood Beach ULI Study and Recommendations; the Business Development and Visioning Goals of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce; the goals and objectives of the Hollywood Business Council; and recommendations of the City's economic development partners.
 

Division of Commercial Corridor Redevelopment

Este programa se concentrará en la reurbanización de cuatro (4) corredores comerciales: Dixie Highway, Federal Highway, Hollywood Boulevard y US 441 para lograr una reurbanización positiva de los corredores comerciales y de los negocios de una manera compatible con el Plan Maestro para toda la Ciudad. Este programa también se comprometerá a la revitalización y reurbanización de corredores comerciales adicionales.
